Chilli Cheeseburger: Submitted by: david park | Date Added: 19 Feb 2010 Ingredients:

500g ground lean beef
2-4 jalepenos (depending on size and heat preference)
1 egg
1 cup breadcrumbs
sliced hard cheese (cheddar, montery jack for example)
salt & pepper

Cooking Instructions:

mix beef, egg, breadcrumbs, finely chopped jalepenos (seeds optional...include seeds at ur own risk as these chillis are hot) and the salt and pepper untill well mixed. chill in the fridge for 20 mins to let the flavours mingle and to firm up the mixture.

divide the mix into 4-6 burger pattys, then divide these pattys in half again, flatten all 8-12 pattys to burger size. add the slices of cheese to half the pattys and place the other halfs on top. a good idea is to pinch the edges of the finished burgers to ensure the cheese stays in the middle when cooking.

griddle on a hot grill or bbq for 3-5 mins on each side.

serve as you like (i have mine on toasted buns with lettuce and tomato and a little relish),you could even add onion rings, enjoy!
